I’m Steven Briginshaw, most people call me Steve. I’m a father, husband, business mentor, award-winning entrepreneur and author. Mostly in that order.

About Me

I love numbers and I’m fascinated with business. I also love having fun, learning, creating, educating and mentoring. A great recipe for transforming businesses and the lives of the owners.

On a personal note, I love listening to music and playing guitar, going to the cinema and hitting the gym.

I’m the founder and chief business mentor at A Better Way Global Ltd, the founder and CEO at Number Clarity Ltd and in 2015 I sold my chartered accountancy practice which I started in 2012 after quitting my day job. Yep, I used to be a chartered accountant, starting that journey in 2000.

I sold my accounting business because it was making me miserable and I realised I fell out of love with it.

At Number Clarity Ltd we provide bookkeeping and monthly management reports to small business owners. As an accountant and mentor, it is almost impossible to help business owners who didn’t know how their business is performing. I set up this business to help them understand where their business is so they can make fact-based decisions on how to get to their ideal future.

At A Better Way Global Ltd I help business owners move from owning a job to owning a business through education and mentoring products provided in self-learning, group and one to one environments, online and offline. We specialise in helping entrepreneurial professionals and practitioners to build their dream lifestyle passion business, doing what they love and making a difference.

I also write blog posts, create videos and speak at events to help business owners all over the world.

My Story

I’ve been there, initially on my own and then with a small team, working all the hours available to get everything done in my business and there is still loads of stuff on my business to do list. It feels there isn’t enough time to get everything done and yet I still want to make more of a difference and earn more to live my desired lifestyle.

Being able to pay myself what I deserve and what I want to fund my ideal lifestyle is too painful to think about. I thought the only way was to get more clients but that meant having to work harder and even longer hours.

Luckily when I stopped and took a step back to think things through, my skillset and experience of working with business owners since 2000 enabled me to see what I needed to do. I too had great mentors and coaches to turn to for help.

This was invaluable and helped the penny drop. Technically, I owned a business but really I owned a job because the business was completely reliant on me. If I didn’t work I didn’t get paid. But yet I had started out to build a business, one that could thrive with or without me, but somehow I managed to create a job instead.

From my own experience in business and from working with business owners since 2000, I saw I wasn’t alone in what I was doing. There are many business owners that own a job when they really want to own a business but they don’t know how to move from owning a job to owning a business or don’t even realise that they own a job. They are stuck with what feels like nowhere to turn with not enough time and not enough cash to break free.

That’s why I’m passionate about helping business owners who own a job (those that don’t get paid if they don’t work) move to owning a business (where they get paid whether they work in the business or not) that makes a difference in this world. I want to help these business owners break free, be happy and love their business.

I realised there are other ways to build your ideal business and lifestyle while making a difference. I even wrote a book about my experience and methodology called The Profits Principles™ – The Practical Guide to Building an Extraordinary Business Around Doing What You Love. In short, it’s a business owner’s companion to actually owning a business, rather than a job, doing what you love and making a difference in the world.
